Kamyia Gibbs
Southwest Regional Representative
Kamyia Gibbs is a senior at the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas, pursuing a B.S. in Psychology with minors in Sports Media and Forensic Science. As a dedicated COLA Dean’s Ambassador, Kamyia is deeply invested in recruiting new students and championing Black representation within the college. She works tirelessly to ensure that all voices—especially those from underrepresented backgrounds—are not only heard but truly valued, fostering a more inclusive and enriching environment for everyone in the academic community.
A proud Fall 2022 initiate of the exceptional Epsilon Beta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Kamyia has demonstrated strong leadership and a deep commitment to service. She has served in a variety of impactful roles, including chapter president, physical and mental health chair, and as a member of the Technology Committee, where she worked to elevate the chapter’s presence and engagement on social media. Recently elected as the South West Regional Representative for the 2024-2026 biennium, Kamyia continues to lead with purpose and passion, always striving to make a positive impact on her sisterhood and beyond. One of Kamyia’s key goals for the Southwest Region is to ensure that collegiates have the proper tools and resources to ease their transition from active chapters to alumnae status. She is passionate about connecting sisterly bonds across generations, helping collegiates feel supported and valued well beyond their undergraduate years. By fostering mentorship, leadership development, and a continued sense of sisterhood, Kamyia aims to build lasting relationships that transcend age and remain strong long after graduation. Kamyia is also a proud fraternal twin, which has naturally fostered her competitive spirit and love for sports.
When she's not immersed in her academic or leadership roles, you can often find her watching football or indulging her creative side by cooking, baking, and crafting DIY projects. With a heart dedicated to advocacy, leadership, and community service, Kamyia Gibbs is a true force for positive change. Her commitment to empowering others and creating spaces for inclusion continues to inspire those around her. Kamyia’s impact extends far beyond the UT campus, leaving a lasting legacy of leadership, sisterhood, and service.
